The Ajax Ladies Volleyball League (ALVA) provides a great platform for women in Ajax and the Durham Region area to engage in competitive volleyball while enjoying a social atmosphere. The league aims to promote skill enhancement, camaraderie, fair play, and good sportsmanship among its players.
The ALVA is managed by a volunteer Executive Committee, which takes care of various aspects such as organizing permits, referees, scheduling matches, managing league fees, and overseeing the overall operation of the league. Their dedication ensures the smooth functioning of the ALVA.
With a history of over 30 years, the league has grown significantly, featuring five divisions, 20 teams, and more than 200 players of all ages. This diversity allows for a rich and inclusive volleyball experience for participants.
Additionally, the ALVA emphasizes community engagement and giving back. The league makes monetary donations to various charities and causes in the community, with a portion of the league fees being allocated for this purpose. The league also organizes a food drive, encouraging all players to contribute non-perishable items at our end of season banquet.
